Abandoned Village

The view from this village was breathtaking. Unfortunately, the photos do not do it justice. Apparently our village in Valdelavilla looked similar to this one before it was renovated. Sadly, this is not an uncommon site. Economically speaking, it's almost impossible to scratch out a living in these remote villages. Almost all are void of any youth, who have set off to find work elsewhere.

In a village near San Pedro, I didn't see anyone under the age of 65.
